AUSLAN

Our Auslan program provides students from Foundation to Year 6 with the opportunity to learn Australian Sign Language (Auslan) as part of our Languages curriculum. Students develop skills in visual communication, including signing, fingerspelling, understanding Deaf culture, and building respectful awareness of the Deaf community.

Through engaging, interactive lessons, students learn how to introduce themselves, exchange simple information, and communicate using key vocabulary and everyday phrases. Auslan supports inclusion by broadening students’ understanding of diverse communication styles and strengthening skills in focus, visual attention, and expressive communication.

Our program nurtures empathy, confidence, and a deeper appreciation for language diversity within our school community.
