At Harvest Home Primary, we encourage every student to be an Upstander - someone who chooses to act when they notice behaviours that are unkind; in a manner that feels comfortable for each individual. Together, we create a safe, inclusive school where everyone feels valued.
Being an Upstander means showing courage, kindness and respect by supporting others, speaking up and seeking help from a trusted adult.
In 2024, we introduced what it means to be a HHPS Upstander, and launched the message of:
Show up. Stand up. Speak up.
Each year, we acknowledge and participate in a range of activities throughout the year and during “Bullying, No Way!” week in August (Term 3). These activities include classroom activities, engagement clubs, and incursions. All of these combine to strengthen the message of the importance of kindness and inclusivity.
