Student Reflection: Buzz Leader excursion to Foodbank

On Tuesday 15th October, our Buzz Leaders visited Foodbank Victoria to drop off all food that was donated as part of the HHPS Canned Food Drive. Over 1200 items were donated which will help many families in need. Read reflections from some of our Buzz Leaders.

Amandra from Killara - Foodbank gave us a tour of the place and we could see what all the volunteers do to help people in need and we also learnt how they work with charities so families can have food.

Eva from Killara - It was a really fun place to go and we learnt a lot of things about what Foodbank does and how. It was an amazing experience.

Feyza from Galada - We drove to Yarraville and the foodbank warehouse is really big! I didn't realise you could also give things other that food like toothpaste and pet food.

Zayn from Tamboore - They had a large machine with a conveyer belt that helps sort all the food that has been donated to Foodbank. Then they send the food to different regions all around Victoria.

Zoey from Yiaga B - I enjoyed learning new facts about Foodbank and exploring the facilities. We went on a tour and met the people and got to see how things work. We also learnt what they do with all the food and how they provide for families in need.
