Student Reflection: Year 3 Zoo Excursion

Our Year 3 friends went on their Zoo Excursion on Wednesday 16th October! See what one of our students had to say about their experience.

The Werribee Zoo was awesome! When we got there we went to a place to eat our fruit. Guess who was eating next to us… A GORILLA! It was so fascinating as they ate bamboo while we ate our snack.

After that we went to a mini lesson about how Aboriginal people made things and how they used the land for things. They also gave us a gumleaf at the start that we folded in half and smelt. It smelt amazing, like green apple.

After the lesson we went on a safari bus that drove us through the savanna. We saw hippos, emus, giraffes, ostriches, and rhinos. Unfortunately the elephants have not arrived at the zoo yet.

I really liked how we had our lunch next to the hippos. Then we walked through the zoo and saw lions.

It was a great day!
