Student Learning

Our staff come to school each day to support our students to be the best they can be.  Student learning outcomes and navigating all students to reach their potential is our core work. We are all learning together and we believe in KAIZEN, which is showing a little bit of improvement every day.

We aim to do this through the Victorian Curriculum F-10 as we have contextualized it to meet the needs of our students through the Harvest Home teaching and learning program. This curriculum documentation sets out a coherent and comprehensive set of content descriptions and associated achievement standards which enable our teachers to plan, monitor, assess and report on the learning achievement of every student in every learning community.

In addition to this curriculum, the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) is also referenced which helps to support our youngest students as they transition into primary school.

At Harvest Home Primary School, we carefully plan responsive, differentiated and dynamic lessons that will ensure that every student is provided the opportunity to learn and be successful in an emotionally safe and collaborative environment. We always aim to impact a student’s learning through this highly personalised approach.

Our pedagogical focus is one that aligns with the 21st Century skill set that our students will need to be successful global citizens. Wherever possible, the use of ‘hands on’ and digital technology is incorporated into our lessons as determined by where our teachers think they can most benefit and enhance the desired learning.

In our contemporary Learning Communities every student is supported to find the place where they are most likely to learn, as the learning spaces are highly adaptive and flexible.

In summary, the students are at the center of all that we do.
